The long explanation I had for removing the mirror glass may not help you
here.  If the housing "cup" is loose on the housing "door bracket" then I
don't know how to fix that.  I do know that there are two distinct
versions
of the mirror housing.  A procedure for one is probably not the same for
the
other.

I saw that on Jim Strickland's DeLorean side mirror that the bottom plate
was missing and the whatever bolt thing was all gooped up with JB-Weld.
