[DML] Re: Heat shield / Fuel Pump - Radiator

How many heatshields are there on the DeLorean anyway??? Where are they located???

In an old DeLorean World ad for Bauerle Automotive in Ohio, you could also buy a non-delorean after-market heatshield to place in front of the car. This heatshield was meant to protect the fuelpump from the warm air coming from the radiator. This was supposed to help the fuelpump operation, so that the fuelpump wouldn't develop a high noise during operation. Is there any truth in this???

If this is true, is this particular heatshield still available?

From Bauerle? DMC Houston? PJ Grady? D1? Or is it not produced anymore?

Any help would be appreciated.

Driving the car without a muffler heatshield will cause premature failure
of the drive belts, pulley bearings, front engine crankshaft seal, camcover
seals, and the wiring harness. The heatshield supplied by PJ Grady, and DMC
Houston are factory spec. and will fit perfectly.
