[doc] Painting/protecting in the valley

Hi all, Having removed all the inlet manifold to get down in the 
valley to investigate an oil leak. I have cleaned all this area and 
was wondering about protecting the valley. I seem to remember reading 
a post (or several) about painting the ally to protect it from 
corrosion. Basically has any one done this in the UK and using what 
product/s. and has one specific product come out better than another, 
also where do you buy it from. Thanks in advance.
