Re: [doc] Painting/protecting in the valley

Hi chris,

I did this last year, I used a screwdriver and a hover  then filled the holes with clear waxoil, I found that the waxoil stinks to start with but then after a good drive it goes off like candle wax, this stops the holes from ever filling up again and protects the alloy (it has been known to for the holes to rot through right down to the crankshaft bearings!!!! NOT GOOD!).

  hopes this helps

Hi all, Having removed all the inlet manifold to get down in the
valley to investigate an oil leak. I have cleaned all this area and
was wondering about protecting the valley. I seem to remember reading
a post (or several) about painting the ally to protect it from
corrosion. Basically has any one done this in the UK and using what
product/s. and has one specific product come out better than another,
also where do you buy it from. Thanks in advance.
