Hey Marc - it might surprise you to hear this, but Christians are
human and, as such, are incapable of living perfect lives. In other
words, the laws and doctrine we try to uphold? We're incapable of
doing a perfect job of it. In fact, Christians break the ten
commandments daily. We don't mean to, but we do. Ever think lustful
thoughts about a woman other than your wife? You've committed adultery
in God's eyes. Anyone who hates is guilty of murder. Anyone who loves
money or possessions is guilty of idolatry. This is why Jesus Christ
was sent to die on the cross - to pay the price for our sins - because
we're all a bunch of dirty, no good sinners and _we_can't_help_it_!

So, you may find it humorous for someone to both pray and sin, but
it's completely natural. Christians believe in, and pray to, God,
because of our sin - not in spite of it. That's not hypocritical in
the slightest: If we weren't sinners, we wouldn't need Jesus.
