Brian, Change the filter or I can send you a new filter if you have my new
baffle set up and then try to run the pump backwards. I have known them to
un-lodge and work fine after that. My new fuel input system allows you to
purchase a filter screen locally or purchase one from me for $5.00.  Here is
a link for the new system.

  I'm using John H's filter and pump as well.  The pump was new when
  purchased.I found nothing wrong with the filter when I changed it
  again except that it was brown - which as we know is normal.  SO
  perhaps general bad luck was at work.

  So I take it that fuel pumps ARE rebuildable and that I could
  probably get a decent core return because my core is brand new save
  the shell?

  not at a point where I end up buying 10 of the same item and be
