[DMCForum] Re: Tinted head/tail lamp covers

Yeah, I had one of those three piece designs for a Mustang GT I had
about 8 years ago. It was made by GTS styling, Lund's competetion.

It covered the real taillights from side to side, and came with the
slide in liscense plate cover.

I never used the liscense plate cover because it looked kinda cheesy
with the adapters to make it seem like one piece. I'd rather of had it
all one piece, but that would have made the part more expensive.

I can guess that in all the NAPA, Autozone, and other auto stores they
sell smoke plate covers, but the police will pull you over for using
one right?

Here in Ohio they sell a dark smoke cover for plates, and if you are
really brave you can mist the inside of the cover with a very light
coat of paint to darken the effect more. As long as some of the plate
shows up when a light hits it, you are ok. Just as long as you don't
make it opaque, then you might get pulled over.

For the Delorean I'd like to have a set of the front blackouts at
least. And maybe a spare set if one gets broke. In the rear of the car
I need all of the visibility I can get from the SUV weilding soccer
moms on cell phones that destroy everything in their path.
