You probably have the Autolite (Holley) 1 barrel. Replace it with a
Carter YF. Is a much better carb. Bolts right up. Get a late model
with electric choke (or swap the heat choke for one). Throttle linkage
is different. I'll make you one if you can't figure it out.

Carter YF was the first choice for my PRV, but it was too tall.
Mounting bolts are also too close together to mate easily to my manifold.

I'm a little confused why you have to replace cap & rotor so often.
Either you're driving the crap out of the thing, or there's something
horribly wrong with your ignition (unless you're simply buying cheap
caps & rotors).
