[DMCForum] Coolant change help

I want to change my coolant and was having problems trying to unscrew
the engine plugs. I am also leery of taking off the rad hoses (done
it before) because the connectors are plastic and there is very
little play in the hoses to get them free.

I have a bleeder bypass installed at the water pump bleeder valve,
which T's into the small hose going to the coolant bottle. I was
thinking of disconnecting this hose at the coolant bottle and
extending the hose to the outside of the engine compartment. When the
engine is started and the thermostat opens the old coolant should run
out that hose. While this is happening I was going to keep adding de-
ionized water to the coolant bottle until the runoff from the hose
was clear. Then add antifreeze and test the concentration to make
sure it has the right proportions.

I know this will take some time, but after trying other methods
before, it would be a lot quicker and cleaner than spending part of
the afternoon playing with rad hoses and trying to get engine plugs
out.

Does this method make any sense and will it work or totally screw
things up (yes I plan on watching everything carefully including the
temp gauge)
