 From my recollection of my friend Rich J working on his #2727, the o/p 
from the little alternator comes up the loom to the multi-plug, but 
doesn't actually break out in the plug, then loops back down to the 
transmission - can you confirm?

#2727 has long since been a 5-speed :-)
