I found that the 12V power outlet from RadioShack is the same diameter as the hole for the Cigar lighter/ligtht. The only small mod is to file a notch for the "key" that prevents the outlet from rotating. It is a little deeper and fits power plugs more firmly (as it was made for this purpose). Once installed, it looks like it belongs.
