Gas smell from AC fan vents

Hi all,

It's been a while since I've had to write to the group. I'm having 
a gas smell that comes into the cabin through the vents (I think). 
When I first got the car last winter, I didn't notice this. But now 
when the weather is hot, I tent to really smell it when I pull off 
the highway and stop a light or something. I'm almost positive it is 
coming in through the AC vents. I read message #15046, and think it 
may be related to this, but I just want to make sure. My wife gets 
an "instant headache" when this happens!

There are NO signs of leakage anywhere. I don't know what kind of 
gas tank cap I have, but it is black and has a lock on it. It never 
really felt like it was very snug fitting; I also never lock it. The 
intake for the fan looks to be on the opposite side from the tank cap 
though.... does this stink tranfer really happen?
