Thank you for your kind words. 

You were right on the mark concerning original lock controllers. However, 
consider this...

Perhaps at some point in time you may choose to design and market a fairly 
complex device. 

When you do, you will be horrified at the real costs of the inventory & 
qualified labor. 
When you factor in the unpaid R&D time ( which is 10X more than you expected 
) and tooling costs, 
your head tends to explode. 

What's worse are the unexpected ancillary costs which are out of this world. 
Every time you reorder components you fight with vendors for pricing, but 
all you hear about is price increases & or shortages.

And all this for SHORT runs.
YIKES !!!!

Conversely, Zilla products have NOT significantly increased in price in 
nearly 10 years. 

It is said that money is worth half of it's face value every 10 years. So, 
in reality, they're now an even better deal.
