Bruce,
I did not have the problem you are describing when I installed my
Digital Dash. I set everything up to work off the angle drive,
including my electronic cruise control. The odometer works like a
champ. Granted, this was not an existing setup from a production
vehicle, it was aftermarket. However, these options are out there for
everyone.

If you have to ask- then it is better to just take the car to a auto
upholstery shop.
You can save money by taking the seats out for them.
It is super easy.
There are four bolts under each seat, under the car.
Take the nuts off and they should just come out.
You may need to remove the seat belt bolts to get them out in some cases.
They won't charge you much to do it.
Unless you have arms like a bear and the right tools you may end up damaging
your
new covers or hurting yourself.

Well, I explained to everyone how I replaced the calipers, machined
the rotors...etc.
Well I have to say that there is an amazing difference.
The car doesn't vibrate, the rolling resistance has been greatly
reduced. Usually I get 200 miles or less to the tank.
After the brake job I am now getting about 250!
Amazing!
I know it sounds just goofy, but it is true!
It's a whole new car!
You might want to check to see if your wheels spin feeely.
If not, it may be your brakes are stuck like mine were.

That's assuming you don't mind getting your house in debt. Not having a
mortgage, I would never -NEVER- use my house to buy a car. It is one of the
few things that once you own outright, it is yours and not the banks.
If I had to borrow money for a car it would not be a 20+ year old one with
interest to boot. I would go to my local big 3 and get the 0% they all run
periodically

My response was in reply to a suggestion regarding adapting a speedometer
from another car, a BMW in this case, to the DeLorean. Late model cars that
have electronically driven speedometers have digital odometers that are
tamper proof.and therefore record independant of the speedometer.Your
digital dash is after market and so this apparently doesn't apply to your
odometer.

As a fellow Canadian, and D owner, I've shipped my D between
provinces a few times. But the big issue is where your shipping it from
and where to. I've used Hansen's Forwarding .. They have "depots" in
most of the major cities .. I say depot's because they also offer Rail
Shipping. (That's how I transported 17106 from Calgary to Victoria)
where they put the car on a train .. No salt there, and semi-enclosed.
They also have enclosed tractor-trailer units and provide cross-border
service.

Every car I own is at least 20 years old. They ARE my daily
transportation.
And remember: this thread started with "Scooby's" desire to purchase a
DeLorean, not a 2004 year model from the Big 3.
The portion of home equity represented by appreciation is the easiest
asset a person will ever accumulate. But if all he or she does is wait
for the gain on a future sale, it is a very lazy asset. It is not
working one bit in the interim.
Faced with the choice between a high interest, non tax deductible,
short term loan secured by my DeLorean itself or a low interest, tax
deductible, indefinite term loan secured by a very small portion of my
home equity, of course I chose the latter. It would have been silly
not to. And financially counter productive. My net interest rate is
3%. I can pay for the car as quickly, or as slowly (30 year term), as
I want. And considering nothing more than my home's appreciation --
the DeLo is secured by a mere fraction of even that.

Hi everybody,
Justed wanted to post to the list that I have another parts DeLorean in
"the shop", (aka-my driveway) at the moment. I'm helping Dave Bauerle
by parting this car out for him. If anyone needs anything specific let
me know.
A few details:
This was a 3000 mile DeLorean in near concours condition that suffered
an engine fire, of which the cause is unclear. Everything from the rear
fascia to the back of the passenger compartment is badly burnt...so
there's not much salvageable from back there, except two perfectly good
quarter panels. This car also was made a donor to repair my beloved VIN
5102 after a front end collision...so everything on the exterior, from
the front fascia to the passenger compartment is gone. What's left you ask?
Well, the car has very nice doors, interior, transmission, T-panel,
windshield, lower engine components, driveshafts, fuel components and
shifter aseembly, as well as some almost perfect wheels and NCT tires.
In addition I have some front end pieces still available that weren't
needed. Best bet, is that if you need something specific, ask, and I'll
let you know if I have it or not. Same deal as last time...if the part
is in excellent condition, I'm asking half of what the parts vendors
want, if it's of lesser quality, I'm asking less.

I did Disconnect negative battery cable, remove A/C panel off and remove
shift knob.
As manual wrote down. I can raise the panel, but I cannot pull it out.
The panel move just little but it stock...Can I use plastic hummer to smash
off?
Or Can I use heat gun to the panel? Does anybody have same experience with me?
How did you solve? Please tech me how.

I asked the very same question when I had mine tested two years
ago. The response was "We cannot access your charcoal canister so we
just mark it as 'inaccessible' and pass you." It's located in the
left rear pontoon and they are not allowed to unscrew or un-bolt
anything to test.

My shift boot panel is held in place by two exposed sheet metal screws
(do not know if they are original or added by PO), a couple of hidden
studs that fit into speed retainers in the metal brackets pop riveted
to the console sides, and the lip under the A/C panel. Those studs do
not fit tightly at all -- as soon as I remove the screws and A/C
panel, my shift boot panel lifts straight out.
Is it possible your studs still fit tightly? If so, a firm tug upward
should pop them out of the retainers.
Is it possible a PO glued your shift boot panel down? The only
surfaces to glue to are the brackets pop riveted to the console sides.
Be careful pulling against them because the console itself is only
made of cardboard.
Unfortunately there is no way to remove the console with the shift
boot panel in place -- 4 of its 6 mounting nuts are underneath.

It is glued in before the glass is installed. The proper way is to
remove the glass, although many people cut it as close to the glass
as possible and remove the assembly to re-cover it.
It warps from the sun.

well, what's happening here is i already have the seats from another car and
they are being put into a customized ride. i have the material on order and
the interior color is a light sand. Don't worry, the stitching will all
still be the same. I'm having a family friend who does customized interiors
do this, and she is even baffled.

brown interior. The one in Texas has black. I suppose the owner
