Thanks for posting your thoughts.   An interesting parallel is the 
history of the US steel industry.

Once the worlds leaders,  the executives kept all the money and never 
invested in updating and infrastructure.

The rest of the world passed us by with better quality.


If you don't learn from history, you are destine to repeat it.
