RE: [DMCForum] Gee, what a choice.

Marc,

A simple question for you.  CAN you possibly survive on the DMCForum
without dragging politics and religion up all the time?  It's a serious
question.  It's pretty obvious no one here wants to hear it, yet you are
now debating the nuts-and-bolts of enforcement, while still essentially
ignoring the original argument.  Nice tactic, but it's pretty
transparent.

CAN you keep your mouth shut on politics and religion if everyone else
does?  And if someone else does speak up, can you simply say "that was
an inappropriate post" rather than using the offending post as an excuse
to spew -your- viewpoints?

I'm honestly wondering if this is something you could handle.
Seriously, can you?

-Dave

So, if someone has been unfairly suspended, what power
do they have to get a vote on the situation? Whats to
say a vote on the matter will work?  Or be fair?

IMHO, this is just as bad as the whim of the DML
moderators..  They have ultimate control to silence
anyone for any reason.  The situation you seem to be
looking to create on the Forum is pretty much the same
thing.

And if you (assuming you are making the decision on
when a rule is broken) improperly suspend someone,
then what??  Who cares??  We recently saw a DML
moderator abuse his power (a flame directed at me),
and a number of people complained about it and even
called for his resignation.  It is not even a week
later, and no one cares that no action was taken on
this abuse.  This is the same apathy that lets the
government get away with what they do..  (SEE!!  I
injected a political comment.  You can choose to NOT
respond to it)

Today politics and religion.  What will be added to
the list tomorrow?

I like the self-moderation better.  If you don't want
a topic discussed, don't participate.  Use your delete
key if you must.
