[DMCForum] Re: Angle Drive Cable

I'm still screwing around with the original factory unit. It's become
a bit of a Sisyphian quest for me -- I'll make the stupid thing work
again if it's the last thing my little silver car ever does. Were I
were smart I'd simply buy a reproduction unit and be done with it.
Guess I'm not smart.

The problem is: with each failure the spindle cable keeps getting
shorter & shorter. Now, it's unwound inside the gear housing. Appears
I have no choice but to replace it. May as well use a cable wound in
the right direction.

Or buy a reproduction unit from Houston. (Defeat? Never!)

I've been driving off my customized RPM chart for so long that I may
actually miss it should I ever get the speedo working again.

Plus I'd probably have to slow down.
