I should have clarified, he just taps it out of the cans, and
charges the car with it for me. I just avoid the expense of buying
the freon directly from him.

Even Dave Bauerle here in Ohio will do this.

After the system is repaired, the seals changed, and oiled, once
charged, I don't half to worry about it. It was three years ago ast
time I had a vehicle charged, all my newer cars run 134a now.

Just the Deloreans, and my little VW use R-12.

I was in the shop with him while it was being charged anyway, I
doubt he is trying to ripp me off in any way as we personally know
each other.
