Re: [DMCForum] Torsion bar adjustment Orlando

Michael, your torsion bar may have been adjusted stiffer to
compensate for a weak strut.  I doubt that the strut will
weaken remarkably any time soon.  (The exception is if you
mounted it upside down so that the seal dries out and then
the air leaks out.  That obviously would not be good.)

Probably the closest person to you who could adjust it is
Technogeek Ken.  Or you could bring it to Tampa where I
could do it.

On a related issue, it may be the case that your sub T-panel
has come unglued from the fiberglass underbody.  This is
very common.  When adjusting the torsion bar is the time to
fix that.  The procedure is on the DMCNews.com web site.
You take the torsion bars out, pry the panel back down & put
some screws in it to keep it from coming back up.  The whole
procedure (which includes adjusting the torsion bars) would
take an hour or two.  I have done it to many cars.
