[DMCForum] Re: barn find?

The car looks descent, but the only thing that scares me form
helping with several other similarily stored cars, is rodent
infestation. Did you have a chance to check the fuse areas, behind
the grill, underneath the fascias, the HVAC piping inside the
interior, inside the console. For some damn reason animals LOVE
Deloreans, and love to make nests ans shit ans urinate in the
darndest places, especially on the relays and sensitive electronics.

Did the owner give any hints as to what he may be wanting if he gets
in the selling mood? As the car sits it looks to need an estimated
$6-$7k of work done to it as long as no major problems arise.

But if it is in really nice shape, and the interior & stainless is
in excellent shape as well, and most systems work then it might be a
great find. Just from experiences here in Ohio, cars left in barns
and unattended for years are sometimes a nightmare.

If it were me, I'd wait till I heard what he might want for it,
cause some of these older owners ask crazy prices because "they only
made 100 of these cars" and thereby expect to retire on the sale of
the car. Did you ask him how the windshield was broken?

Just ballpark but maybe somewhere around $10-$13K for the car as it
sets would be a reasonable price if it isn't basket case under
closer inspection.

Going to go for three Deloreans now Greg?

Later,

Joe
