[DMCForum] Eric, Come Out Of The Garage For A Minute (Electorial College)



Bush only carried the electorial college because of the contested
popular vote in Florida. Had the Florida popular vote been given to
Gore, Gore would have won the electorial college (provided
representatives thereto actually voted as Florida's majority intended.
In North Carolina at least there's an ostensible punishment for
electors who vote in the college contrary to the popular vote --
something like a $25 fine).
