RE: [DMCForum] Re: Bush Lost Florida In 2000

Wow, 10,000 black voters turned away or found their polling place
moved???  I find this amazing.  Hmmm, perhaps those damn republicans
just wanted to keep the blacks out of the vote???  How did they
determine this number?  Did Sean Penn go down there and count the
people?  How did he find the time away from his job as International
Weapons inspector?

Could it be that voters were turned away because they were black,
democrat or incorrectly registered??   I mean we shouldn't let a little
thing like registration get in the way of voting should we?

How many punch card ballots were discarded in '96??  Is it fair to say
that they could have just as easily been for Bush?  If voters cannot
follow instructions for the proper use of the ballot machine, your
right, they probably were going to vote for Gore.

Palm Beach's FOURTH recount was cut short.

The corrected absentee ballots were not counted even though they should
have been.  The corrections had nothing to do with the actual vote.

Saying that Bush would have lost is speculative at best.

Approximately 10,000 registered Floridian voters (predominantly
black)
were either turned away from polling places or found their
polling
      places moved.

Miami-Dade county never manually counted 10,750 ballots that the
punch
      card machines couldn't read.

Palm Beach County's manual recount was cut short (after numerous
delays from its Republican election board members).

Republicans corrected invalid absentee ballots AFTER November 7
and
Bush sued to have them included in the recount.

Let's face it: Bush would have lost Florida if the election and
its
      aftermath had been handled fairly.

On September 12, 2001, Gore may have been glad it wasn't.
