Yes, but the button is only about 1/6th the size of the original mirror
mount.  That's why I was thinking it might be okay.  Not sure though...

Isn't the effect of the glue on the windshield the same either way?  I
thought the glass would be effected due to expansion and cause cracking.  On
909, someone JB Welded the mirror to the glass and there is a little
'bullseye' there.
