RE: [DMCForum] Mirror button?

Isn't the effect of the glue on the windshield the same either way?  I
thought the glass would be effected due to expansion and cause cracking.  On
909, someone JB Welded the mirror to the glass and there is a little
'bullseye' there.

Subject: [DMCForum] Mirror button?

Hi All,

I know you're not supposed to glue the regular DMC mirror onto the windhield
because of the possibility of cracking, but what about a mirror button like
in other cars?  I have an autodimming compass/temp mirror from a Cadillac in
mine, but the buttons that use sticky pads are all plastic, and the
heavier-than-normal mirror keeps bending them until it won't stay mounted
anymore.  Can I use normal mirror adhesive and a metal button?  Any
thoughts?

Thanks,

-Dave

PS - Martin -- dome lights are fixed.  I had purple and black wires swapped.
