[DMCForum] re: general usage question

Farrar,
Out of over analness I only jack my car up when I have to, other wise I drive up
on home made ramps (2x10s & 2x4s four to six high). I have a lowerd car with
ground effects so the 2x4 across the jack won't work without driving up on the
ramps first. I also found a set of very low jack stands from Sam's Club.

Oil, Oil filters, Air filters ... If you will be driving your D as frequently as
I do. Always good to have extra belts on hand. I'd stow an extra set in the car
(under spare or jack area). For the possibility of flat tires get a luggage rack
and/or a large trash bag. If no luggage rack use the trash bag to cover tire
while riding shotgun because the rear tire wont fit in the trunk. Well I guess it
can but it won't close.

List:

For those of you DIY guys, what do you use to jack up your DeLorean? In
preparing to get the thing I'm planning on getting a jack of some kind.
The ramps I use on my truck won't work because I bought them with the
height of the truck in mind anyway. (I don't have a garage; I will have
to work on it outside in the driveway, which is kinda short -- about two
carlengths.)

I'm also planning on buying frequently-needed parts before purchasing
the car, as someone kindly recommended to me earlier. Anybody have a
list of commonly-failing VITAL parts? (I'm not talking window regulators
-- I'm talking things like fuel pumps.)

Phew, this is getting serious. You guys are pushing me. ;)

TIA ...

Farrar
