I guess it all goes to the level of acceptance one is willing to live with. I am sure I could re-upholster my leather couches in my home but I am not going do it. The difference with vacuuming is that if I goof up doing it, I can just re do it. If I poke a hole in my leather seat of my DeLorean, I have to live with it for a long time. Or if I don't get it quite lined up perfectly, I have to see this crooked sitting cover. It is not a simple process Hog Ringing the seats. I found a local gentleman near where I lived who did the job for $25.00. He was retired upholsterer and told me to strip down the old seat, bring it in and he did the rest.
