RE: [DML] VIN's used as press cars at factory

Also from the files here we have a "company cars/assigned vehicles" listing
dated September 17th, 1981.

It lists 502, 528, 530 and 558 assigned to Legend Industries.

In the footnotes it indicates that 502 was a "DMCL Air Ship" so it was
probably one of the first batch of cars flown in.

The other three are listed as "Pearl Ace" cars, which *I believe* was the
name of the ship that they were loaded on from Belfast.

There are an additional 22 cars marked "1st 22 units", including 520, which
is reported to have been flown in, as well.

805 was assigned to Roy Nesseth, and was an automatic - IMO unlikely to have
had a Legend engine installed.

In some of the Legend documents I have, there was reference to 558, but not
a lot of detail on anything being done to it.

But, while we are looking for specific cars.. Anyone know where 501 is??

Stories have been passed around that "one of the legend cars" burned up in a
fire (not 805, driven by Roy Nesseth that is rumored to have had a Legend
engine in it). But that story has not been documented and (if it is true)
we don't know if it was 501 or 558.

Lots of us are searching for these cars.. :)
