The Legend documentation shows a DeLorean with the vin "501" was there for the turbo development project.  So, no matter what car off the line it was- it did exist....  and I would still love to locate it for Legend history purposes.

Considering all of the other assets at Legend industries was auctioned off in Long Island NY, I would think 501 (along with 502, 528, 530, and 558) was included in that sale.  Why would you think it would have been shipped back for conversion after the bankruptcy was already complete?

I's like to think 501 is still somewhere in the united states waiting to be found, but more likely it ended up in a junkyard and has been destroyed...  No evidence on it at all.  :(

You guys are doing a great job of researching and documenting these cars.  Thanks so much for doing that and sharing with the community.
