[DML] Re: DeLorean reliability

Maybe its just us Colorado guys, but I completely agree with
everything Dik posted. My car is esentially stock, no turbos ;-(. I
drove from Denver to Gettysburg with two other owners and not one of
us had any significant issues.

The issues we did have related to washing the engine and drowning one
cylinder and my computer govenor decided to act up the day we were
leaving. Both issues easily handled.

I got about 25 mpg from Denver to Gettysburg and 23 mpg on the way
home (it is up hill!). Seriously the difference was we ran much
faster going home than going out. We ran 70+ the entire way with many
of those long miles across Kansas at 75-80.

There is nothing wrong with K-Jet and my angle drive is not oem, but
its close the previous owner replaced it while the car was still
under warranty and the DMC was still a functional business. It still
works great. Although this is the second time my computer govenor has
gone bad, the first one lasted 22 years, my DMCH upgrade lasted 4
years. I am getting lots of help from my electronics buddies but we
are going to upgrade the govenor ourselves this time (cheaper and
better) move it off the transmission and hopefully follow Mark
Hersey's example and never have a problem again.
