[DML] Re: Front Strut Bar

As an owner since 1982, I've driven a DeLorean over 200,000 miles
(actually divided between two cars). In all that time and miles, I've
had one highway blowout and no other flat tires. Odds of having to
get to the spare and then the further odds that it will have air in it
- - -IMHO, zero! So --- I don't carry a spare anymore and I drive
very long distances far, far away from home.

With the advent of the cell phone and AAA's "plus" membership, I, like
many, many others have converted the spare tire well to a spot to
store things such as cleaners, tools, etc. The fiberboard that covers
the "well" could easily accomodate a circular opening to enable
removal of these items when needed without having to undo the bar.
And, since most of us use soft luggage in the trunk, the bar will
provide support to preclude anything falling into the well.

A final thought: I, too, have wondered about the placebo effect, but
enough persons on this list who I respect have indicated a
satisfactory noticeable difference, that I think I may just go that route.
