[DML] Congratulations to Millennium Concours winners

The DMC Open House was great fun and it was great to catch up with
so many friends in the community.

We held a concours competition at the event and had a another lineup
of great cars to inspect. As an added bonus, we had the luxury of
judging the cars indoors in the hotel this time (at the last open
house we were outside under the awning at DMC with some record heat
and the judges kept dripping sweat ont he cars). I think the
undercarriage judges especially appreciated the carpeted conditions.

As I think everyone knows, the program has been completely revamped
this year and instead of giving one 1st/2nd/3rd we now recognize
cars that achieve various pints levels regardless of how many might
reach that level. The levels are Stainless (of course), Silver, and
Bronze.

In addition, we have coordinated with the DeLorean estate for
consent to name a special award in his honor that recognizes the
best of the best that iss awarded only to the top scoring competitor
at the event prided that competitor is at the highest level.

And now for the results (rum roll please):

Ken Koncelik was awarded the stainless certification as well as the
John Z DeLorean Excellence in Marque recognition. Ken has been a
tremendous competitor and steadfast supporter of the program and we
all know of his contributions to the community. His stainless
certification and special recognition award are well deserved and I
congratulate him.

Mike Mulkern was awarded the silver certification level. Mike is a
first-time competitor and put in a tremendous effort in signing up
to an unfamiliar program. We all know that the first attempt is by
far the most challenging, and he made an exceptional showing.

The last car manufactured (VIN 20104) prepared by Sandor & Jim
Piszar was awarded the bronze certification level. Sandor & Jim
started preparations the afternoon before the show and they brought
the car to a very strong showing given the short prep time.

It is only a coincidence that there was one certification at each
level, and this should not be misunderstood to imply that it's a
first-second-third place arrangement. It just happened to turn out
that we had one car place in each level this time around.

Congratultions to all our competitors for their achievements.

  Knut
