Under normal circumstances, no, but when I'm trying to figure out if my
fuel pump is working right, it's a lot easier to hear it run for a
second and then cut out than to try and hear it when my engine is
running...  

 

If for no other reason than this, I'm glad my relay does do the priming.
My car had a lot of no-starts when I was first getting it going again -
that was a huge help.
