I dunno, I got mine for only $100 and it's doing fine.  :)

Ok, so the previous owner (Ken K) put a LOT of work into it making it
one heck of a nice raffle car.  The only major problem I've had is
that the alternator belt broke on me and left me stranded.  I returned
the next day, and with Dave S giving me bolt-by-bolt instructions, I
had a new one on.  Otherwise, I've been driving it fairly regularly. 
My other car hasn't seen much action this summer because of this one.
 I say, the DeLorean lifestyle is a fun one.  The TWO DeLorean
lifestyle is twice as much fun!  I like answering the question "Ok,
which one did you drive today?" :)
