[DML] Re: Electric DeloreanTechnology for sale

Gang - The technology for decent electric cars is closer than some
might think. A friend of mine is working on the car that is
featured in the news article that can be found at the following
link - http://tinyurl.com/pznp2 For a reasonable price, all things
considered, these folks will have a pure electric car with a range
of 250 miles, 0 - 60 in 4 (as in *four*) seconds, and a top speed
circa 130mph. I personally could live with that. With the heavier
weight of a DeLorean (as compared to the Tesla), the perfromance
would be down a bit, but ... hey! Style counts for something. I
could envision somebody producing a retrofit kit or a conversion
program for exotic cars using this technology.

Lithium Ion batteries, there is not enough room to pack in enough
lead acid traction batteries that would give you acceleration beyond
60 mph for any reasonable distance.
