Re: [DML] Re: Rack & Pinion determination-Grady Reply

My first experience with Rob was 2 years ago when my car failed MD inspection becasue of a steering rack that was shot. He quickly mailed it to my shop and they put it in and my car passed inspection.

The internet has no doubt helped save the Delorean as info and help can be spread around the world in a open forum. But unfortunatley for vendors, it also allows the customer to quickly shop prices in just minutes. People always gravitate to the lowest price. When I read the details of Rob's steering rack I felt lucky he decided to rebuild them.

The airlines have long complained the that the flying public wants airline travel to be dirt cheap, safe, fast and friendly with a meal to boot. People need to pay for quality and safety but they just don't want to. I have since spent thousands on parts from Rob with no problems.

It all comes down to cosmetics vs mechanical. As an example, The front radiator screen looks great in ss. However, at almost $200 it is an expensive piece for a part that almost no one can see. My only advice would be for Rob to try and package 3-4 of his ss parts into a "value meal" style pricing.

Rob has helped me many times on the phone and at the spring social's which he gets nothing for.
