Re: DeLorean spare tire

We are all driving glorified prototypes. Can use many adjectives to
describe the car, but "mature product line" isn't one of them. Some
issues were never resolved. Spare tire is just one of them.

14" wheels fit spare tire well no sweat. Problem is 15" rears. Have
heard 3 transportation options:
-Tie to luggage rack, if equipped
-Place on engine cover and tie down louvers
-Put in passenger seat

Trunk itself poses own issues. Pack lightly. Plenty of space side to
side, but not tall enough for standard bags.

Are fun little cars, steeped in history. Is surprisingly easy to
obtain your own copy. Maintenance not too difficult (problem is tight
access, not engineering, and cost of parts). Every once in a while rue
the day I brought one home, but generally recommend ownership.

it's in front of the car? A Finnish word for it 'tavaratila' does not
specify where in the car it is, does the word 'trunk'?) Anyway, that's
off the subject...

trunk. And as in most cars, it is a compact, smaller than the normal
wheels. One thing that caught my interest was that it said that the
trunk won't fit the regular wheel. So if a blowout does occur, where
would you put the blown tire? In the lap of the passenger? Or is there
an empty space in the rear on the engine lid, could you put the wheel
there or is the lid strong enough to carry some weight? Or do you clog
some exhaust-intake vents by doing so?
