[DML] Re: Running VIN numbers

Nick

My VIN has a "T" in between the 26 and check digit (on my case 9 as well).
So try SCEDT26T9DD016045. I ran it through my VIN calculcator and the check
digit computed correctly at "9".

Just a note to others running random VINs (such as the twin turbo), the 9th
digit is a check digit. It will be between 0-9 or X. If CarFax comes back
and says INVALID VIN, something is wrong with it (possibly the check digit).
If it comes back and says NO INFO FOR VIN, then you have a mathmatically
correct VIN, but there's just no record of it.

My VIN calculator is just a small Excel file. If anyone knows how to put it
into the vault or could place it on an FTP site for me, just email and I'll
send it to you.

Good Luck,

I am trying to run the check on the carfax thing and I can get in okay but
it says the Vin is Invalid. It says you need a 17 character long VIN. I am
in Ireland and on my VRC (vehicle registration certificate) it has only 16
characters. What am I missing? My Vin is SCEDT269DD016045. My car is not
near me so I can't get exactly what it says on the VIN plates.
