check for a loose or corroded connection on the ballast resistor (left side of fire wall under hinge)

Yesterday while returning from a short trip out of town I noticed a decrease in power during accelration. Then the engine started to miss at idle while at a light or intersection. This morning I made a short trip (2 miles) to the Post Office and the car was running worse, missing and low power. When I pulled into the driveway the engine stalled and now will not stay running.

The fuel tank had been pulled last year and cleaned out and all the parts in the tank replaced (filter screen, pick up tube and fuel pump). All the relays in the system have been replaced over the last 6 months.

> As it stands now the engine will start very quickly and then just dies out with the rpm dropping off. When the gas pedal is held down the engine will stay running at about 2000 to 2500 rpm. The idle micro switch is working and the idle regulator is humming along(this is a new unit replaced 4 months ago).
