I have a Auto Lifter USA lift, roughly $2600 delivered about 5 years 
ago.  Delorean is on top, 1965 SL underneath.  Primary purpose is 
long-term storage.
It is free standing on my concrete garage floor.  Hardest part of 
installation was removal from freight truck.  Took three of us to slide 
it out, tilt down, use floor jack to lift the end off the truck so he 
could leave.  (Driver could not assist us in unloading....union rules).  
Once pallet broken down, each piece moveable by 2 of us.  Assembly no 
problem...if you have a wrench, you can assemble.
