And I had looked to buy the ?Multi Coloured? interior car but just didn?t
want the scale of the project.  Didn?t get to see the car in person but my
friend did who?s photos and description did not inspire confidence.

A couple of cautionary tales for you. 

Remember the eBay Delorean with the Technicolor interior?  Sold recently
to a car dealer in N.I. and very quickly passed on to someone else for
less money?

Well the new owner has just  joined the club (after he bought the car)
now, following a good inspection by a knowledgeable and trusted club
member, the news has come back, one off the worst chassis rot examples
ever seen! Plus a few other problems. Pity he didn't join, the club and
do his research before parting with his hard earned cash!

Another member who recently bought a painted car, has just uncovered
some panel damage as he attempts to strip of the paint.  

My answer to people who are thinking of buying painted cars is, "if you
can live with a painted car, (always cheaper) then fine, but if you want
a Stainless one, add a bit more money and buy one"! 

Both of these projects are going to be very hard going, frustrating and
costly. 

My message is, learn from other peoples mistakes, don't repeat them.
