[doc] Re: DELOREAN ON EBAY - MOT on VIN

hi all

i know only too well that an mot is done on the vin number, as i
have imported many from Japan.
incidentally you are allowed to put 'not known' for the engine
number if you can't find it. and believe me on some cars pajero's
you have to be Paul Daniels to find it.

i menat that if the car was being used on UK roads on US plates,
surely his insurers would question it after that long.
it turn out then from Chris that this car is not the 'bargain' it
seems, most worryingly someone may buy it only to find the frame
needs extensive work to 'keep safe'. i assume also the seller knows
this...is this why there may be no MOT?.

Regards

steve
