Lol, cheeky sod!

We had the Mk1 in the late 70's, and then when Dad bought a bigger caravan
he didn't think the old Cortina was up to it, so along came the Rover in
about 1980/81. The Cortina was a grey 1500 Deluxe - but with a 1600GT engine
out of a Mk2 in it - then one day Dad had the bright idea of repainting it -
so out came the gold Hammerite!  To finish the transformation, the engine
and gearbox were also painted in Hammerite (green and blue) - Dad let me
paint the gearbox I can remember tumping down the M4 in that with caravan in
tow, with dad laughing cos the Rover was doing an effortless 100 at the same
time.

Ah, happy days.......
