Title: Having a Delorean is the best thing ever.....Thank You for having the guts to build it Mr.Delorean.

Dear All,

this weekend was a very fun one for me, involving three nights of wild parties, and a great number of interesting people. Somehow, the Delorean got in on the act too:) As it often does, the showoff!! As Martin knows, with my background I meet a lot of mediatypes, and musicians, mostly at themed opening parties for new clubs, galleries etc. This weekends first opening was a new photographic gallery in Bath, which specialises in conceptual black and white photography. The theme was "The New Romantics-in black and white" (think Duran-Duran, Depeche Mode). So I thought, with all that 80s chic thing going on, why not bring along the Delorean, and park it right in front of the venue. "Bloody great idea!" my girlfriend said in her black and white "Like a Virgin" outfit. Quentin Wilson, please read this....The Car WAS The Star! I never seen so many people crowd round a Delorean in my life before. With all these VIP- semi Celeb types, dressed in faux 80's Gucci and Boss outfits, it felt like the time machine had actually brought us all back to around 1983, and some pop singer had just received his brand new Delorean, and was showing it to all his celeb friends. Now the person who loved it the most was a chap called Roland Orsibel. Some of you may know him as the singer/writer behind Tears for Fears, the successful 80's pop band. It so happens that my parents and I live in the house the band bought in Bath duringthe 80s. Roland and I share the same August 22nd birthday, so get on well.He always wanted to own a Delorean, but had problems with sourcing a RHD, so the dream never came to pass. Interestingly he once drove Duran Durans car, so I mentioned Dave Howarth et al. Roland and Curt will be releasing a new album sometime towards the end of the summer, don't be surprised if yousee PSO used for promotion of it:) The more I can plug this car in Celeb/Money circles, the better our resale prices get, and the more our classic Deloreans will be appreciated by all the public and media. "Things, can only get better"

The Delorean is a one of the most striking car designs of the 20th century, a car that defines an era, and something you can fall in love with, and be absorbed by. After this weekend I just wanted to thank all the Delorean owners, past andfuture, for sharing that same futuristic dream. Quite simply we are all doing much more than just cleaning up old 80s cars, we're taking care of an ideal, and keeping it around for future generations to appreciate. If the young designers of today see our Deloreans, and some how carry that vision into their own design styles, maybe the car industry will break out of this horribly dull period of car design. Don't doubt yourself for one moment, we're right, the critics are wrong, the Delorean deserves all the attention itcan get. This weekend was a good step in the right direction, may there bemany more, and there shall:)

(The fact thatmy door locks jammed shut, with my keys inside the car, while it was parked in the jetwash on Sunday, did not shake my confidence in the car at all, though you'll be receiving my door lock module very soon Martin, and a crumpled tenner too:) Mind you, had 2 couples taking pictures of the car while a waited for my younger brother to bring my second key to the jetwash.)

                                Speak soon,

                                        Stephen.

Hi Phil

Glad you saw me tanking it along in the fast lane :-) Sometimes I forget which car I'm in (I do have a bit of a heavy right foot in the Xantia). I was only moving with the flow, anyway!!!

It's a real shame we didn't know you were down in Kent - we met up with Chris Hawes and James Grant (by "we" I mean Rich and me - he was with me in the car) for a mini-meet.

FWIW, you have rose-tinted specs :-) My car looks bloody awful! It's dirty (I keep getting it dirty driving it to/from work where I keep it) and working on it inevitably results in greasy paw-prints here there and everywhere :-) The fascias badly need a lick of paint. On the up-side, I'm pretty chuffed with my number plate - everyone comments on it. Rich has since seen IIL 1711 for more than three times what I paid for IIL 1611

Anyway, enjoy your car, and pop along to our meet-ups in Kent if you're up for it!

Martin

I was driving down to Kent yesterday to go and look at a DeLorean for sale when all of a sudden some cheeky show off with registration number IIL 1611 cruises past me in the outside lane, ignoring all the 60MPH speed restrictions! Have to hand it to you Martin, the car looked stunning! Unfortunately I wasn't quick enough off the mark with my digital camera to get an action shot before you disappeared off into the distance! However, the fun didn't end there...
