Re: [doc] Help with non starter and frozen door.

Hi mike,

First I¹m in Kent.

The car ran and drove to the docks in the US and James at DMCH has said they
had no problems with it.  Looking at the car it¹s got a new alternator and
this starter looked new-ish.

When I arrived at the Docks here the loading boys said that they could not
get it to run on the boat and had to tow it off.  They said they had tried
to start if for 15 Minutes with one of there booster batteries attached and
it would not fire.  On pointing out it had no fuel in it they got all
stroppy saying that there was no not of this.  It was on the bill of
laden!!.

On adding fuel I tried to start the car.  It cranked over twice and then
refused to turn over anymore.  I fitted my booster pack and tried and
nothing.  Just clicked.  Tried shorting the two posts on the starter and
noting.  Bumped the car and it fired.  Very rough sounded like it was
missing on a few cylinders.  I let it idle and it slowly started to settle
down.  I drove it out of the port and stalled it.

Now me and the misses alone couldn't bump it so out came the AA to bring it
home.

I¹m going to check the amps but I¹ve had this battery and a booster pack on
it and it nothing.

The Starter also has a faint burnt smell as well!!
