I did mine in gunmetal and gradually started to dislike it. I've had 
them done professinally using a mat lacquer. If you're using a Halfords 
shade, I suggest Rover Steel grey which is l;ike gunmetal but a bit 
lighter. There's no colour to it though - original had a hint of green in it
