[doc] Being taken advantage of!!!

When the club supplies the cars, literature or images to a film crew,
journalist etc, can't we have some sort of caveat, or at least a chance to
proof the final assortment of information before it is actually integrated
into the documentary.  Dave Howarth had this problem years ago, he supplied
his 1200 mile Arizona car for a professionally photographed studio session,
for a book and he also supplied factual support information.  Dave never saw
the final proof and the final printed copy of the book contained their own
additional snide snippets such as 'the doors never worked properly' or
something like that.

If the BBC needed DeLorean cars, we are the ONLY affordable source (free on
the whole) which I would have thought meant we have some clout in the
conditions set in relation to information used, it is not like that they
place a large £££ donation to the club.  Chrispy is right, we cannot
stop/avoid the facts and 'baggage' of the DMC saga, it is what makes the
whole episode an unbelievable movie script.....  It is the urban myths like
'the problem with gullwing doors is that you need a whole extra car parking
space to swing them open' is what really irritates me.

How can we tighten up the control, otherwise these questions are going to be
asked continually at all future car shows, petrol stations etc

slightly miffed

Chris H.
