Not really - you have to factor weight into consideration, and where
rust is more common, the frame tends to be thick.

How do you come to that conclusion! It's a better solution than others
and has only been superceeded nowerdays with powdercoating. Galvanising
is better but much more expensive and risky.

The roll bar takes all the front/back forces. I've not seen any bent due
to normal use - usually being tied down. They could have been epoxy
coated though.
