Re: [doc] Engine swap

Yep, not too hard to strengthen it.
Its a shame it wasn't designed better in the first place though...
Does the Lotus Esprit of the same era have a better frame?

Did Lotus really design the DMC frame half-assed on purpose as I've
heard elsewhere? I've heard the engineers wanted to add a rear sway
bar, but Colin Chapman told them it wasn't needed, and didn't give an
explination. The thickness of the metal is too thin. The epoxy idea
was terrible. The front control arms are too weak. And the trailing
arm mounting and TAB... well enough said. I really like the backbone
frame design, but it seems Lotus made a mess of it when it came to
DMC.
