Hi Welmoedj,

The VIN list is based on several incomplete sources of information 
and is compiled and enhanced over time as additional infomration 
becomes available. The most valuable source of info is owners and 
enthusiasts finding cars and tracking the VIN numbers for logging.

A missing VIN in the database doesn't imply anything other than that 
VIN hasn't been logged yet.

The primary sources of information for the VIN list are:
  Owners and enthusiasts finding VINs and logging them
  The original DMC warranty cards
  The original MC sales records
  Other DMC records of various kinds (like shipping manifests)
  Carfax and similar searches

None of these sources are in themselves complete but by continuing 
to collect data the VIN list should steadily get better and more 
complete.

I have been negligent in publishing an updated VIN list and there 
has meen substantial updates since the last posted list. If I get a 
little time I'll compile a new version and post it for folks to 
enjoy.
