Elvis ,
I agree with you for the most part. I also had a friend experience
the rusted bearing issue.
However with a truly Free moving valve, More the 50% of the time
the Vacuum from the engine can cause it to close, I've also seen it
open and Increase the RPM. Sometimes no change or a very subtle
one. But usually you get some sort of change when the connector
is removed.
